Celebrating 50 Years of the Qualified Person & 35 Years of NSF Training
NSF is delighted to take a moment to mark an historic milestone: 50 years since the Qualified Person (QP) role was introduced into legislation, and 35 years since David Begg launched the very first QP training program—now part of NSF.
From that first course in York in 1990 to today, our QP training has shaped thousands of careers, adapted with evolving regulations, and upheld the highest standards of patient safety. The role of the QP has grown enormously—embracing globalization, digitalization, and ever-changing regulatory expectations.
At NSF, we’re honored to have been part of this journey since the very beginning. Our commitment remains the same: to equip every aspiring QP with the knowledge, resilience, and integrity needed to lead with quality and protect patients worldwide.
