New Zealand born Max Merritt performs his 1975 hit song, for a soundcheck, at a Melbourne music festival back in 1988. Max and his band the Meteors started out in the late 1950's and performed together on and off over the next five decades with them last reforming in the early 2000's. Max was a solo artist based in L.A. from the late 70's to the late 90's. He became seriously ill in 2007 but was still writing and recording up until his death in 2020 at the age of 79. He was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2008 and the NZM Hall of Fame in 2020.
