Dean didn't stop to answer him he just walked out of the door... again.


Sam ran after him, but Dean was already driving away.

Every time they slept with each other, one of them left.

The thing was... that wasn't so bad ,because, they'd always come back... or... the other would track them down to make them come back.

They'd just shows up, in the car, motel, or wherever. They'd fall back into the lifestyle... until the next time...

Sometimes they'd last weeks before the inevitable happened. When Sam tried to discuss it, Dean wouldn't even acknowledge it. When Dean was finally ready to say the words, Sam wasn't, and he'd just walked away... again.


And round and round the Winchesters go.



When Dean leaves for the last time, he doesn't come back. He drives away thinking...Maybe he really should give Sammy another chance at normal?

Sam doesn't call Dean this time... Maybe Dean wants normal, after all?

Sam pulled his cell from his pocket. It had taken three months, but Sam felt strong after a successful hunt. The adrenaline would show in his tone of voice. He wasn't going back and he was going to tell Dean so.He pressed the phone to his ear. Lisa had been right. Their relationship was unhealthy and fucked up and they could both do better.

"Hey," Dean's voice cracked.

"Hey," Sam replied, as if he didn't have a care in the world.

The casual banter lasted only a moment, before Dean's voice dropped to almost a whisper. "But when I do..." Sam's jaw tightened at the vulnerability in Dean's tone and he braced himself. Dean couldn't say anything to get him to change his mind. He couldn't. Not this time.

But...

By the time Sam closed the phone, he knew he was screwed.
