In April 2021, my friend Owen and I spent 144 hours in Umgede Underground Hide at Antares Bush Camp in the Greater Kruger National Park. Our goal was to see and photograph a breeding herd of elephants during the day, as well as to capture a unique photograph of elephants drinking under the Milky Way.
Umgede Hide is a relatively new and extremely comfortable underground hide located right next to Antares Bush Camp and is an excellent place for wildlife photography in South Africa. The camp sleeps 8 guests and Umgede Hide comfortably seats four photographers.
