Camping In Extreme Wind & Cold Temperatures With My Dog

It's been some time since my Aussiedoodle Shadow and I spent some time together in the field. Shadow loves being in the woods where he is in his true happy place.

I took my trusty Pomoly Stovehut 70 hot tent and my Pomoly Altay Winter Stove to keep us warm and toasty in the tent. The winds were very high and the temperatures were dropping.

The hike in using my Polk sled was relatively easy minus on portion were it was very congested with thick brush and fallen trees. Once we surpassed that it was relatively east minus a persistent headwind.

While on our way across the frozen pond we encountered 2 eastern coyotes. The took off into the woods when they detected our presence.

The set up was done quickly as we were burning daylight. The fire was started and now the cooking could begin. I brought a simple meal. I fried up some spiced chicken patties and placed them in a wrap with Caribbean mango hot sauce and lettuce. They were delicious.

We settled down for the night and watched the Canada vs USA Nations hockey game. It was a great game but Canada sadly lost :(.

We both had a great sleep and woke refreshed. Coffee and a cookie was the breakfast. Shadow and I enjoyed the area a little longer before the pending storm arrived and it sure did later in the afternoon.
