Zelenskiy and NATO's Rutte say they discussed U.S. peace efforts in Odesa

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Odesa to discuss post-ceasefire peace efforts and long-term security guarantees. As the war continues, focus shifts toward what comes after a ceasefire — including regional stability and defense in the Black Sea. Ukraine, along with representatives from the UK, France, and Turkey, is holding key security talks in Turkey on April 16–17 to strengthen cooperation in the Black Sea region. Zelenskiy also revealed that talks with the United States over a critical minerals deal have been “positive,” with more meetings expected soon. The discussions aim to boost Ukraine’s strategic partnerships and post-war rebuilding efforts.
