カナリア諸島、テネリフェ島は日本から最も遠いヨーロッパの島のひとつです。大きさは沖縄とほぼ同じ、島の中央に富士山に匹敵する標高の山を持ちます。島の中央に向かっていくほど、徐々に標高が高くなり、小さな島ながら場所ごとに異なる気候を楽しむことができます。そんなテネリフェで可愛い猫ちゃんに出会いました。スペインの人たちがする猫の呼び方で呼ぶと早速近づいてきてくれた猫ちゃん。はるか遠くから教会の鐘の音が聞こえてきます。

The Canary Islands, Tenerife, is one of the furthest European islands from Japan. It is about the same size as Okinawa and has a mountain in the center of the island with an elevation comparable to Mt. Fuji. The altitude gradually increases as you move toward the center of the island, and even though it is a small island, you can enjoy different climates in different parts of the island. I met a cute cat in Tenerife. When I called her in the way Spanish people call their cats, she immediately came up to me. The sound of church bells could be heard from far away.
