Free Workshop: Breaking Animation Rules with Barry Rooney

Animators constantly make choices about when to follow realism and when to break it. In this workshop, Riot Games Animation Lead Barry Rooney examines the relationship between intent, emotion, and clarity - and uncovers why bending the rules can lead to stronger, more memorable moments.

Barry Rooney has been a professional animator since 2004. He started his career as a lip-synch artist on Jimmy Neutron and transitioned to game development in 2007, working in proprietary engines, UDK, and Unreal 4 and 5. Barry is currently Animation Lead at Riot Games and mentors students in the Animation Mentor Game Animation Program.
