Despite being one of the smallest and arguably one of the most insignificant parts of a locomotive, the train horn has entranced thousands of rail enthusiasts for almost a century. With their musical tunes, loud blasts, and wide diversity, horns have become a part of the modern railroad in a way that grabs the attention of train fans and average people alike. Does everyone know what a GEVO is? No. Who cares about what a 710 engine is? But if there’s one thing people know, it’s what a train horn sounds like. Of course, since we’re not casuals here, we must go deeper into what really makes a train horn…well, a train horn. What’s with all these different horns; how do they work, and why do they sound so different? Well, I’m so glad you asked. The answers lie within. :)

Thank you @TommyBNSF for the descriptions of horns you put on each of your videos. I was really second-guessing myself on some of these, and your videos helped clear some of my confusion.
And finally, thank you wonderful viewers, for once again joining me for another Loco Production. God bless, and I’ll see you soon, out on the High Iron.
