Take a 360 Virtual walk through the main Pedestrian streets of Belfast from Castle Lane onto Cornmarket and through to the Victoria Square shopping mall, housing all the designer labels, over 70 shops, several restaurants and the Odeon cinema.
The main focal point along the way is the sculpture in the middle of Cornmarket (Arthur Square). The Spirit of Belfast is a public art sculpture by Dan George in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The sculpture was unveiled on 25 September 2009 after a series of delays and is located on Arthur Square, close to the main point of access to Victoria Square. The sculpture is constructed of steel and cost £200,000. As with other public works of art in Northern Ireland the sculpture has been given a nickname, the Onion Rings.
Victoria Square is a shopping and leisure complex located in centre of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Opened on 6 March 2008, Victoria Square is a commercial, residential and leisure development which took 6 years to build. At approximately 800,000 square feet (74,000 m2) and costing £400m, it is the biggest and was one of the most expensive property developments ever undertaken in Northern Ireland.
An element of the development is two covered, multi-level streets linked to the glass dome which measures 37 m in diameter and 45 m in height. A public square covered entirely by the glass dome serves as the hub of the entire area. The Jaffe Fountain, constructed in the 1870s by former Lord Mayor Otto Jaffe in memory of his father, has been restored to its original location in Victoria Square. There are pedestrian links to nearby business, nightlife and shopping streets on Laganside, Donegall Place, Royal Avenue and Ann Street.
