Niskayuna School District Superintendent resigns

NISKAYUNA -- The Niskayuna Central School District Superintendent announced her resignation on Friday.

Susan Kay Salvaggio, who has served as Superintendent since July 2011, will leave the position effective April 15, 2014. The Niskayuna Board of Education voted to accept the resignation at a special meeting held on Friday morning.

According to a release put out by Salvaggio and the Borad, the two parities "disagreed as to the best course of action to ensure the continued success of the District and that certain philosophical differences have arisen relating to expected performance." Board President Deb Oriola says the agreement to sever employment was made on an amicable basis.
