Sometimes I'm not so sure why Odoo changes things. One of the weirdest changes in Odoo 18 is how payments work. With the default functionality, no journal entries are created. That makes a mess. You can't see payments on the Aged Receivables, you can't tie them to payments afterward, and you can't reconcile them. Thankfully, there's a way to fix that!
