Kissavos Mountain Cinematic Trailer, Greece | Art.et

Kissavos (Ossa) is a beautiful mountain with several trails that are known at least to most climbers in Thessaly.
In this post, we refer to another part of the mountain that is not very familiar to many climbers.
This route starts from the community of Spilia and then we head north (N) through the national path O2, to find ourselves on the opposite rocky ridge that has the top of the "High Trees". It is located north and opposite the cone of the top of Kissavos.
Between the ridges we walk and the opposite ridge of the summit there is a large gorge, Megas Lakkos or (Bougazi).
The ground of the stone ridge consists mainly of large slabs that have several slits in between, in order to make walking more difficult but also dangerous if we were not careful enough. On rainy days there is a high probability of slipping.
The view from the Rock Range is unique, as it is located between the top of Kissavos and Olympus. When the atmosphere is clear we have visibility up to Halkidiki and Mount Athos.
The caves of the rock series are also of great interest, with the most important being the "tzar" hole (Zarra's hole) and the "Liparotripa".
The Zar hole according to what is written in the Thessalian Diary issue 68/2015 published by Kostas Spanos, where there is the article of RS WAGMAN - AG NICHOLS (in English translation by ALEXIS GALANOULIS) entitled "A forgotten sanctuary of the nymphs in Thessaly", refers to the cave and the archeological findings, some of which date back to the 5th-4th c. e.g., confirm the discovery of an ancient sanctuary and the existence of a local cult of the Nymphs.
