Secret Dartmoor

Dartmoor has many secrets and Emsworth is right up there as one of the best.

Up until recently I didn't realise what it had to offer. Even though I have lived in Devon for nearly all of my life and frequently visited many of the beauty spots on the moor, Emsworthy remained a secret to me.
Fortunately, in recent years, it came to my attention, and this spring I made it a mission to visit the area when the blue bells were in full bloom.
I had been disappointed two weeks earlier to find that the Bluebells hadn't bloomed and although the trip wasn't wasted, as i managed to go to Wistmans wood instead, I struck gold or should i say Blue on my return!
The colours of the blue bells and the complimentary colour of the barn were a joy to photograph, in between all the families and picnic blankets!!

Put this location firmly at the top of your places to visit, around mid to late May for a fantastic spectacular!
