What to do if you have a Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis flare | GI Society

If you experience a new onset of IBD symptoms such as diarrhea, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, fistulae, or fever, especially if they are worse than before, it could mean that you are having a flare.
