We're finally burning some rubber with the twin Tesla Motor Squarebody C10! The last time we tried doing any sort of burnout was at Hoonigan's Tire Slayer Studios right after SEMA 2021. And, in full disclosure, it was a giant flop. So, as you saw last episode, we brought Chris down to dial in the dual Model S motors. Now we're no longer freezing up the drivetrain trying to give this electric Chevy some beans. But the new issue we're having is that our stock Tesla large drive units have open diffs. Luckily Zero EV came through with a Quaife limited slip differential for our rear motor. We get to cracking the Tesla motor open to install this new LSD (and check out all the insanely beefy internals of this Model S motor). While we have the truck on the lift, it's the perfect time to make some modifications to our control arms. Tim does a whole bunch of cutting, bending, and welding to make sure these suspension parts don't get bent out of shape again. And finally, before we take the EV truck out for its first real performance test, we have to get our Simpson harnesses installed. With our performance and safety mods in place, we find a deserted lot to light these tires up! Andrew gets this truck nice and sideways for its inaugural drift and even tries to do a few donuts around ChaChing! We're not done yet though folks. There's still a good bit of tuning and dialing in we need to do before we can say this truck is running at 100%, but we're stoked to see some smoke coming from the tires.
