Over 18 billion dollars is spent on professional staff development in the United States, yet very few educators and administrators are satisfied with the quality of professional staff development being delivered. In 2014 the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded a study to determine how teachers, administrators, PD providers and beyond feel about the current state of professional staff development, and what teachers want to see in professional staff development learning experiences. The study found that very few educators were not satisfied with current professional staff development offerings. Based on the findings of the study teachers want: PD that is relevant, interactive, tailored to meet their needs, and presented by experienced teachers. The following video provides clips from numerous STEM and Science-based professional staff development trainings that Education Consultant, Diana Wehrell-Grabowski, PhD has conducted throughout the world to teachers and administrators.
