Zakynthos nickname is “the flower of the Levant” given by the Venetians. Tourism and agriculture are the main economic resource of the island. Zakynthos has a diverse landscape with beautiful blue beaches, breathtaking cliffs, mountains, and fertile plains. Zakynthos is a popular destination among tourists especially British. Zakynthos has a lively nightclubs, bars, restaurants and blue beaches. There are also museums such as Eminent Zakythians and Museum of Solomon which are located on St Mark’s plaza. There is one international airport that offered connecting flight to other Greek island and also there are many tourist charters that operate daily. The Zakynthos cuisine are typical Greek food and a mixture of Italian food since it was under rule by Venetian Republic. Zakynthos has a moderate summer and winter temperatures.
