The Spiritual Science of the Saree

The saree has managed to remain popular for thousands of years, but how? What is the significance behind it? The saree is not just clothing, but a spiritual SCIENCE. It literally raises the frequency of those who wear it.

In Vedic times, clothing--the placement, cloth, weight, color, etc--was designed as part of the science of Enlightenment, to help raise human consciousness. Because energy is absorbed from our outside environment, it first must pass through our clothing. The traditional saree, lightweight and unstitched, was developed as the perfect conduit for cosmic energy entering the body.

The saree is more than just cultural wear from India. It is an opportunity to fill our bodies with prana and balance our energies. From the placement of the pallu over the left shoulder, to the stomach being exposed, every detail is purposeful and there to lift the wearer to a higher state of consciousness.

An infinitely vast resource of Hindu knowledge and practice is still available to human beings. On the path to Enlightenment, every detail matters: from the way you eat your food to the way you dress your body. Enlightened masters take birth continuously to pass along this holy science to the world. My guru Paramahamsa Nithyananda is reviving so beautifully this ancient lifestyle for the purpose of raising human beings to the next level.
