We just got back from an amazing casino cruise on Holland America, and let me tell you - it was a trip that could have easily cost a small fortune. But thanks to points, miles, and a strategic status match, we slashed the cost by 82%!

Here’s how we did it ..

🎰 Status Match Magic: I leveraged a status match from Caesars Diamond to Wynn Platinum back in May 2024, which qualified us for a deeply discounted cruise offer. To qualify for the cruise with Wynn Platinum status, I stayed two non-consecutive nights at the Wynn in Las Vegas both in May then in June. It wasn’t free, but it was 100% worth it for the benefits that followed.

✈️ Flights on Points & Miles: Round-trip flights from CLE to FLL cost only $22.40 per person, thanks to points and miles. We flew down on AA and back on United. Flights alone would have cost $2272.90 RT - IN ECONOMY!!

🏨 Luxury Hotel Stays: Before the cruise, we enjoyed two free nights at the Conrad using a mix of Hilton points and a free night certificate - a serious upgrade over paying out-of-pocket for a high-end hotel. A more than $1700 savings in and of itself!

Would I pay $95 per person per night for RT flights, 2 nights at the Conrad, and a 7-night cruise? Absolutely.
Would I pay $529 per person per night? Probably not.
