To further our understanding of rainforest systems, National Geographic Society, with the support of Rolex, has launched the 2022 Perpetual Planet Amazon Expedition—a massive science and storytelling journey that will span the entire Amazon River Basin from the Andes to the Atlantic. This two-year exploration of the Amazon River Basin will leverage local National Geographic Explorers, multiple science disciplines, and photojournalism to illuminate the diversity and connectivity of the people, wildlife, and ecosystems that make up this critical region.
