Let's take a POV tour of the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado!
This video features a point-of-view (POV) road trip through Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado, driving the full scenic loop beginning and ending at the Gateway Road entrance.
The route follows Juniper Way Loop around the north side of the park, continues south along Garden Drive, then turns north to rejoin Juniper Way before returning to the Gateway entrance — completing a full loop drive through the park’s central roadways.
Along the drive, we pass by several well-known points of interest within Garden of the Gods, including:
North Gateway Rock – the towering sandstone formation near the main entrance.
Kissing Camels – a recognizable rock feature located on the north ridge of Gateway Rock.
Gray Rock and Cathedral Spires – visible along the south portion of the loop.
Balanced Rock – a large, freestanding boulder that has become one of the park’s most photographed landmarks.
Siamese Twins formation – located off Garden Drive with views toward Pikes Peak.
The history of Garden of the Gods dates back to the late 1800s, when Charles Elliott Perkins, head of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, purchased 240 acres of the land in 1879. Perkins intended to preserve the area in its natural state, and after his death in 1909, his family donated the land to the City of Colorado Springs. Their only condition was that it always remain a free public park.
Since then, Garden of the Gods has grown to over 1,300 acres, featuring striking red sandstone formations, walking trails, and scenic roadways that allow visitors to drive through the park while viewing its geology and natural surroundings. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1971 and remains one of the most visited attractions in Colorado.
This video captures the complete drive through Garden of the Gods Park, showing what it’s like to follow the paved loop roads past the main formations without stopping, providing a full driving experience of this historic public park in Colorado Springs.
There are a few specific goals of Travel Towner:
1. To take fun POV (“Point-of-View”) videos of scenic drives, highways, and roadways so you can virtually travel anywhere you like; or look back at a time when you were younger.
2. Document a fun walking tour of a specific park, attraction, or point of interest so you can see what's it's like to really be there.
3. Showcase vintage footage from yesteryear to show today's viewers what is may have been like back in 19- something something! If you have any vintage footage of past attractions, parks, road trips or anything interesting from the USA? Contact me and let’s feature it here!
4. Just for Fun. These are videos that are funny or interesting in some way that I think everyone will enjoy!
Please give a "thumbs up" if you like taking a POV Road Trip or love POV driving.

Another big part of the channel is to document a piece of Americana… at a certain point in time. Wouldn’t it be cool to go back to where you lived, 20 or 30 years ago, and take a ride through your hometown? As more roadway drives, walking tours, and vintage trips are added, it builds history so future viewers can go “back in time” and see what it was like, back then.
Roadtripping and traveling are uniquely American pastimes- and we should preserve it’s history- so future generations can appreciate the Freedom of the Road.
