About Dr. D–

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Austin with an honors degree in Philosophy and Religion and attended medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. While in medical school, he discovered his passion for musculoskeletal, spine and sports medicine. He went on to complete his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, followed by an Interventional Spine/Pain Management fellowship under Charles Aprill, MD, also in New Orleans.

He founded Precision Pain Consultants in 2007 in Austin, Texas as a mainly interventional sports and spine clinic.

Since 2010, his practice became increasingly more focused on all aspects of Regenerative Medicine for both peripheral musculoskeletal conditions and spine disorders. In 2018, Precision Pain Consultants became Precision Regenerative and Functional Medicine, with the aim of solving long-standing pain problems through a combined regenerative and functional medicine approach, which also involves rehabilitative exercise.

Dr. Dumitrescu believes that regenerative and functional medicine approaches to care can work together to unlock every patient’s healing potential and re-establish the healthy lifestyle that his patients deserve.
