Can a beat-up $300 Takamine acoustic guitar turn into a $3,000 Martin killer? Can budget beat boutique? Let’s find out.
In this video, we take Rhett Shull’s vintage lawsuit Takamine acoustic guitar — originally bought for just $300 — and see if we can mod, upgrade, and tweak it into something that rivals (or beats?) a $3,000 Martin. We'll use every tool and build technique at our disposal, as well as some rare hardwoods, to try and turn his clunker into the ultimate sleeper.
