Gino Norris was in the car with Julio Foolio when the shooting started. He got shot himself—shoulder and back—didn't realize it at first, tried to help Foolio, then drove the bullet-riddled car away while wounded. Emotional throughout testimony, Norris gave the State powerful victim credibility. Then defense landed a devastating blow: Norris followed Isaiah Chance on social media and they were "somewhat cool."
Isaiah Chance is Alicia Andrews' boyfriend and the alleged mastermind. If the victim's close friend was friendly with the supposed gang enemy plotting the hit, what does that say about the State's rigid gang warfare theory?
Norris testified "no issues that whole week, it was going good till the shooting happened." He confirmed peaceful timeline through clubs, the birthday celebration, late-night hotel search. He was front passenger when Foolio checked room availability. That's when the ambush happened. Norris tried to help Foolio, realized he was shot, drove away to escape. Hospital, out of work one to two months recovering.
The State needed sudden ambush testimony—no warning, no fights, no provocation. They got it. But they also got a witness contradicting their gang hit narrative. Defense asked: did Isaiah Chance have issue with you? "No." Cool with him? "Yeah, go straight." Talk on social media? "Yeah."
This devastates prosecution theory. If Foolio's close friend was on good terms with the alleged mastermind, how does the State prove calculated gang execution? People in Jacksonville's music scene cross gang lines constantly. Social media connections don't mean conspiracy.
Norris never saw Alicia Andrews, doesn't know her, can't say whether she knew about any plot. Robert Howard may have communicated with Isaiah Chance too.
