Malpua is a fried pan cake (poori) prepared from all-purpose flour (maida flour) & rava and then soaked in sugar syrup for sweetness and softness. Fennel seeds are added to the flour for aroma and sweet bites inside. It is an easy sweet recipe / dessert recipe popular in north India and can be made quickly with simple ingredients. INGREDIENTS (MAKES 12-15)
All-Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup
Semolina / Rava - ¼ cup
Sugar - 2 tbsp
Crushed Fennel Seeds - ½ tsp
Salt - a pinch
Milk - 1 cup
Oil - to fry
Sliced Almonds/Pistachio - to garnish
For Sugar Syrup:
Water - ½ cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Cardamom - 4-5 pods
