Heat pumps are supposed to reduce the carbon footprint from housing, yet they are surprisingly controversial. One the one hand you hear people say that they are just not getting warm enough to heat anything but the newest houses, on the other hand you have the green brigade claiming heat pumps are God's gift and they will save us all. I had a look at some of those claims.
