While most aspiring farmers and subsistence farmers are skeptical about spending a lot of money to buy high quality breeding animals, farmers like Carlos Motaung of Motaung Dorpers in Mmatseta.
In this episode, we talk to Carlos Motaung to learn more about his breeding philosophy as he continues his quest to breed high quality animals.
This philosophy, has once seen him buy a ram for P60 000, another for P55 000, and another one for R40 000, while he once also bought an ewe for P33 000, and another one for P25 000 to mention a few. This, he insisted was mainly because of the genetic line the animals came from, as they were from a proven highly productive bloodline.
