This is the start of a full ground-up rebuild of my original Creality CR-10S. By today’s standards this printer is slow, outdated, and honestly painful to use, but instead of replacing it, I’m upgrading and modernizing it into a high-performance, custom-built machine.

In Part 1 of this CR-10 build series, I focus on the toolhead, electronics, and core upgrades needed to bring this printer into the modern era. That includes a custom-designed carbon-fiber and aluminum toolhead, a water-cooled Phaetus High Flow Dragon hotend, Orbiter 2.5 extruder, EBB36 toolhead, Klipper firmware, and completely new electronics. The goal of this video is simple: make the printer reliable, modern, and capable of printing ABS, so it can literally print its own future upgrades.

This project blends DIY, 3D printing, electronics, and water-cooling, making it perfect for makers, creators and 3D printer enthusiasts.
