This month's GibbsCAM Tech Tip shows you how to project a Polar & Cylindrical (aka rotary milling) toolpath onto a solid model to control a variable depth pocket or contour. This tip is especially useful for creating variable depth screws or other helical parts without having to use the 5-axis option.
Creating a wrapped toolpath on a tapered rotary part can be a challenge, but there is a simple way to do it, once you understand that the toolpath is calculated before it's wrapped. We walk you through it in this month's video.
