We hit a stretch of CAT (Clear Air Turbulence) on our flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport KUL to Hamad International Airport DOH. This was the worse turbulence that I experienced throughout this trip. The flight computers take input from on board accelerometers to determine how turbulence is affecting the aircraft and uses the flaperons to 'fight' against it by moving the aircraft against the direction of the wind that is shaking the aircraft.
This is the same part that was found on Reunion Island from the lost MH370 aircraft.
This video was shot from window seat 28A that was just aft of the port-side wing. This seat provides a very clear view of the flaperon in action mid-flight.
This was Qatar Airways Boeing 777-300ER that's powered by the massive GE90-115B turbofan engines which are the largest and most powerful in the world.
