Just a short video I produced after checking over and cleaning my AquaTec Ottawa Pro.

As I was working 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, I did not have time to clean my kayak and kit after Friday's wet and windy trip out. In this video, I show (what I call) my waterside kayak cleaning kit. Light and portable, with a tiny bit more effort, this cheap set up does just as well as using an expensive rechargeable power washer.

As mentioned on my last video while out on the River Stour, I wanted to replace my bow and stern cargo netting for a colour that blended in more with the kayak. So here is the video showing my new cargo deck netting and added side and cross bungee straps.

I was hoping that the drawstring cord stoppers would allow me to tighten and loosen the bungee, but they just slipped to the full length. It may be best to just use two 5mm shock cord end hooks to link (joint) the cord.

We can avoid transferring species on our kit by cleaning it before leaving a site so that all potential stowaways are left behind - this can include plants as well as animals. The Check Clean Dry campaign offers advice to anglers, boaters and paddlers on how to minimise the risk.
