The Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s State Fire Marshal (SFM) division is teaming up with the Rochester Fire Department to talk about the ongoing work to prevent carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning across the state. Rochester is one of eight communities receiving free CO alarms thanks to a federal grant. Fire officials will be joined by Cheryl Burt, whose two sons died from CO poisoning in 1996 — a heartbreaking loss that inspired federal legislation in their name.
