Fake Robots at World Robot Conference

Do any of these robots look a little too human?

Viral videos from the 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing surprised viewers because the robots displayed by Chinese company Ex-Robots looked a little too human.

Then a picture surfaced showing one of the cosplayers apparently hired by Ex-Robots eating lunch. Followed by footage of the women with a makeup artist.

On X, reporter Byron Wan shared footage from the event showing some of the robots were actually humans in disguise.

X users are split: some call the act deceptive, while others argue it was clearly humans in disguise, so there was no intent to mislead.
