This month the focus is on music in welcoming the “Nation’s Guest”. Our special guest is Christina McSherry. Christina is Executive Director @Historic Rock Ford and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Anthropology at
Franklin and Marshall College. We discuss how the Lafayette Tour of America influenced the musical landscape
of the United States. We highlight pieces that were performed as part of the festivities and learn more about the styles and trends of music at this time. Special thanks to the Music Director of Ascension Lutheran Church in Willow Street, PA, John Zielinski for performing, "Welcome to the Nation’s Guest", "Honor the Brave", and "A Collection of New Cotillions", which we sample in this episode.
