There Are Too Many Reboots

Phineas and Ferb. Clone High. The Powerpuff Girls. Tiny Toons. Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Ren and Stimpy. Futurama. Total Drama Island. The Amazing World of Gumball. King of the Hill. All of these cartoons are coming back in reboots, revivals, and new seasons, revealing a problem about the current TV animation industry.

Nostalgia sells. That's why Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and every streaming service is giving us an endless cycle of animation (and live-action) reboots and revivals. What happened to original ideas? Why are shows like Inside Job and Close Enough getting cancelled before they can really shine? Will this barrage of animation reboots ever slow down?
