The Code of Ethics of a profession defines for the public what they can expect of the professionals they interact with. APTA adopted a new Code of Ethics for the physical therapist and the physical therapist assistant, replacing the previous Code and Standards effective January 1, 2026. There is an impact on licensing boards whether the Code is part of regulation in the state or referenced as the standard of professional behavior. This session introduced the Code and the many changes in the new document.
