What does a chief human resources officer do? The chief human resources officer (CHRO), or sometimes referred to as the VP of Human Resources works closely with the CEO to lead the company, alongside the other C-level executives.

The CHRO focuses on strategic tasks which include five key roles: The first is to be a human capital expert; the second, is to be the talent strategy creator; the third, is to be the change management leader.; the fourth, is to help drive the company culture; the last is to be a trusted counselor.
