Manchester United coach Eric Ramsay has left the club to become the youngest head coach in Major League Soccer (MLS) history, joining Minnesota United. The 32-year-old Welshman, who served as a first-team coach under Erik ten Hag, joined Manchester United in 2021. Ramsay expressed his excitement at joining Minnesota United, praising the club's football culture, fanbase, and infrastructure. He becomes the latest British coach to move to the MLS, following the likes of Phil Neville, Wayne Rooney, Dean Smith, and Casey Stoney. Ramsay earned his UEFA Pro Licence in 2019 and previously worked in coaching roles at Swansea, Shrewsbury Town, and Chelsea. He also served as an assistant coach for Wales in 2023. Minnesota United's chief soccer officer, Khaled El-Ahmad, said Ramsay was the best choice to lead the club, citing his experience working with top-level players, coaches, and sporting staff. Minnesota United joined the MLS as an expansion team in 2017 and reached the playoff semi-finals in 2020. Ramsay replaces Adrian Heath as the team's head coach.
