I like to congratulate my elder brother Stalin Ji for the wonderful book he has offered, many many years struggles for his & I congratulate him for what he has done for the Tamil Nadu. Yesterday my mother called me, told me it is Stalin Ji’s birthday tomorrow.

Thanking for Inviting (2:02)
I like to thank Stalin Ji & all of you for inviting here & giving me the honour to speak to you. Its always the pleasure to come here in TN, I mean in it in very profound & deep way.

Why I said “I am Tamil” (2:28)
Some days ago, I spoke in Parliament & I believe its appreciated in TN. When I was walking out of Parliament, one journalist asked me why do you mentioned TN several times. Without realising it came out of my mouth that “I am Tamil”.

My blood mixed with your soil (3:58)
Then I realised why I said those words. Because, my blood is mixed with your soil. It was a very sad experience for me losing a father. Very difficult experience, but also an experience I learnt from. So I realised I do have the rights to call myself Tamil.

What is it mean to be Tamil (4:36)
The first think it mean, when I come to the state I come with humility. I come bowing my head to your tradition, to your history & to your language.

Speech in Parliament (5:07)
In the speech I said, India is a union of states.

What is State (5:15)
When we say State, what is the state & from where is it come from. It starts from the land. From land come the people, from people come the voice, from voice come the language, from language come the culture, from culture come the history, from history come the State. So when I say Indian is union of states, I am saying that the union of states come together to form India.

PM does not understand the State (6:22)
When the PM comes here & tries to impose some other idea on the people of TN, when he does not understand that Tamil Nadu is not just two words., TN is 3000 years, TN is land, TN is people, TN is a language, when does not understand, he insults the State & he insults our Country.

The Voice of TN disrespected (7:06)
When TN people repeatedly asking to talk with you on NEET & you don’t answer them, what type of respect is that. When the voice of TN says GST is unfair & harms productive states, but you don’t respond, to whom you are disrespecting?

No body will be able to impose (7:34)
I said in Parliament, they don’t understand the history of Tamil Nadu & the history of the Nation. In 3000yrs, nobody has been able to impose any thing on the Tamil people. And in 3000yrs from today, no body will be able to impose anything on Tamil people.

My experience with Tamil People (8:04)
You talk to them with love & affection, you can get anything out of them. You come here, you respect their culture, their language, you try to learn from them, they will give you nothing but love in return.

PM does not understand (8:20)
It’s the misunderstanding that the PM has. It is a misunderstanding that applies to all states of our union.

Power of state of the Indian union taken away (8:47)
We have to understand that for the first time since independence, a state of the Indian union had its power taken away from it. It is never happened before.

Rights of the people snatched (9:04)
The rights of the people snatched from them. Today the people of JK do not rule themselves. Today bureaucrats from UP, Gujarat rules JK. That’s the extreme, what they have done to JK. In Punjab they have unilaterally taken land & given to BSF. Without any question & without any discussion.

The Unity from Diversity (9:37)
We always speak about the unity from diversity. India has very very diverse people, diverse states, diverse language. Historically India has taken advantages from the diversity. Its our biggest strength.

We are respecting & learning from each other (9:54)
I learned from the people of TN. TN learns from the people of UP, Maharashtra, we learn from each other. We respect each other.

Our Vision & Their Vision (10:04)
So our vision is the unity & the diversity. Their vision is unity from conformity. You will conform what we will say. But who gave you the rights. Who are you to decide to what India should be? Why cannot the people of India decide what India should be? So this is the central fight in our country today.

Systematically our Institutions been attacked (10:37)
The voice of people represented in our institutions and systematically the voice of people is being attacked. The judiciary, the election commission, the media, systematically by one by one being attacked.
