Architectural Technology at Vanier College

This dynamic profession combines hands-on technical knowledge of buildings, advanced software applications, and construction techniques with the art and aesthetic of architectural design. Job placement for our graduates is exceptionally high, as the field is recognized as a ‘priority profession’ experiencing a labour shortage by the Québec government. Bursaries are expected to be offered by the Ministry of Labour for students in this program.

All students participate in a two-week internship where they work alongside architects, engineers, contractors and developers (among others) to gain hands-on and practical experience in the field. These internships often lead to job offers upon graduation. Students also have the possibility of doing their internship in France.

Graduates can enter the workforce at an established company, or become licensed by the Order of Technologists (immediately upon graduation) and start their own practice. That said, a large percentage of our graduates choose to pursue a university education in various disciplines, including architecture and engineering.
