The pandemic has hit many businesses hard – the Indigenous tourism industry is no exception.

The multi-billion-dollar industry has received a number of government grants to help businesses recover – and as we enter 2022, there’s momentum and some optimism that the worst is behind us.

The Indigenous Tourism Association is coming out of the gates hot with 22 must-see attractions that they’ve mapped out across the country as people get out and enjoy life again.

We hear from the ITA about its list and a number of tourism operators from coast to coast to coast who are excited to host you.

InFocus Host Melissa Ridgen brought the team to Sayzoons, a Métis owned adventure camp in the heart of Red River Métis country on the Crow Wing Trail just south of Winnipeg.

Also on the show – Feb. 8 was National Braiding Day. We spoke with Kookum from Sandy Bay First Nation Donna Desjarlais about the day.

We’ll also show you all the pics we received of your braids.
