In Invincible Season 2 we saw as Mark Grayson did battle with the Second Darkwing after the hero goes on a murderous rampage in Night City and needs to be taken down, however despite the fact that Cecil claims he’ll arrest Darkwing he actually rehabilitates him and adds him back to the Guardians of the Globe Roster, causing some pretty big problems between him and Mark Later. While it seems like Darkwing has actually changed his ways after Cecil brought him back, his story doesn’t go in a positive direction when we finally get into the events of the Invincible War. Here the guardians of the Globe are attacked by a Mark Grayson from another reality who pretty much looks exactly like the one they know, and he RIPS THROUGH the Guardian’s roster mainly leaving Darkwing there alive to try and end the battle. Trying to save everyone Darkwing actually appears one more time to drag this mark into the Shadowverse where he stays and doesn’t return, hinting that the variant of Mark actually kills him in there forever remaining trapped in the dark.. However right at the end of the Invincible series we see as Darkwing FINALLY makes it out after 10 long years inside the dimension, meaning he finally found a way, to win.
