How do these crayons compare? What's good for adult artists? What's a plastic crayon?

Today we will compare several brands of crayons and see what might be suitable for art. We might even find a nice budget alternative! I also want to find a nice substitiute for the dicontinued Prismacolor Art Stix. All of the crayons rated today are water resistant
Neocolour 1 wax crayons by Caran Dasche. These are my favorite and I actually prefer these to Prismacolor Art Stix. These are smooth, rich, vibrant and opaque. An all around heavy hitter. If you want the best get these! They are availabe in 40 colors in sets and open stock, Blick: https://shrsl.com/3w7kc Amazon: https://amzn.to/3J91WUc
*There si also a wax pastel called swisscolor that come in half stick sets from Caran Dasche: https://shrsl.com/3w7l9 Might be a slightly cheaper alterative to the NEO 1 cayons.
Prismacolor Art Stix: These are wax pastels reportadly made of the same lead you would find in a prismacolor pencil. To me they feel harder than prismacolor lead tho, there might be hardeners added so they don't break. They are wonderful and I was sorry to see that they were discontinued. They are very slow wearing and a nice value. You might be able to find some colors in brick and morter art stores.
Crayola Color Sticks are surprisingly similar to Prismacolor Art Stix. they are solod sticks of colored pencil lead in a hexoganal shape. they nseem nicer than the Crayola colored pencils I've used in the past. They are availave in sets of 12 and 24: https://amzn.to/3Da9ZvY Big box stores may have these as well as amazon. the 24 set is out of stock at blick but they have the 12 set: https://shrsl.com/3w7lh
Deli Crayons https://amzn.to/3WAXwsa I bought these on Amazon last summer. They are smooth and soft and easier to laydown color than the artist grade crayons/wax pastels. They do not have the opacity I was looking for but would be nice in adult coloring book especailly if you have sthrength issues in your hands.
Blick Plastidecor crayons: https://amzn.to/3wo8hDK these are affordable and very vibrant on white. Good for adult coloring books but not opaqie enouogh for my needs in mixed media.
Classic Crayola: https://amzn.to/3j4VjHH good quality for a childrens crayon but not the best slution for art IMHO
Mr. Sketch Twistables: These were more pigmented than crayola. Very similiar in quality to the Bic Plastidecor
Crayola Twistables: https://amzn.to/3ZXGgQC Very affordable and smooth to color with. Trasnparent. Nice for resist techniques
Crayola project crayon: https://shrsl.com/3w7m3 these feel like a China Marker, they are more opaque than the other Crayola products, they lay down thickly and are vibnrant and make a nice base layer to blend colored pencils over. I like them and put them in my colored pencil rack to use as a base layer.
Jane Davenport Power Pastel: these are a cross between a crayon and an oil pastel. They stick well to plastic or glass as a bonus. These are excellnt as a way resist. They do feel a bit sticky and gummy on apper and don't blend as well as oil pastels or some other crayons. I think these have been discontinued because I could not find them for purchase anywhere.
Bottom line, the Neocolor 1 are the best and Crayola color sticks are a nice runner up. Of course it is a lot of personal preference and depending on your use you might like a differnt product. What do you think?
