Welcome to the death-by-chocolate episode! Because this cake is truly a chocolate lover's dream. This was essentially the groom's cake at my wedding, seeing as my (now) husband loves all things chocolate, and pecan pie is one of his favorite desserts.
Today we are baking through my favorite pecan pie recipe of all time, then we follow up with a creme fraiche chocolate cake. Those get layered between a brown butter bourbon buttercream and finished with a chocolate buttercream. Because who can resist even more chocolate, you know?
***Note: In the video I call for unsalted butter, but in the recipe I call for salted. Please use salted. Otherwise the cake will feel a little unbalanced.
