世界終結是個可怕的觀念。出人意表地，若望藉神示告訴我們，這終結竟然是天上羔羊的婚宴(19:7)！即基督和他的新娘教會甜蜜和永恆的結合；是新娘(新耶路撒冷) 的美貌毫不保留的展示(apokalypsis)！默19讓人明白為甚麼在教會教導裡婚姻那麼重要。它是貫徹聖經的主題；整個救恩史開始和完結於婚姻(教理1602)。基督徒婚姻是基督與教會夫妻之愛的標記(教理1617)。

The end of the world is a scary concept. Surprisingly, John tells us through divine visions that this end turns out to be the wedding feast of the Lamb in heaven (19:7)! That is, the sweet and eternal union of Christ and His Bride, the Church; the unreserved display (apokalypsis) of the beauty of the Bride (New Jerusalem)! Revelation 19 makes people understand why marriage is so important in church teaching. It is a main theme throughout the Bible; the entire history of salvation begins and ends with marriage (Catechism 1602). Christian marriage is a sign of the conjugal love of Christ and the Church (Catechism 1617).
