This is a short demonstration video of a live steam whistle from DJB Engineering running on an G- Gauge Accucraft Ruby.
The whistle consumes a lot of steam (both the water in the boiler, and the available boiler pressure) which is evident on such a tiny boiler. I use a Goodall valve to add water to the boiler between scenes so that it does not run dry.
This engine is also fitted with a chuffer, that sort of makes it sound like a steam-powered sewing machine when it is running on the bench like this.
