"GENOTYPE" VS "PHENOTYPE"
GENOTYPE: The set of genes an organism carries. Ex., "Het Albino"
PHENOTYPE: Characteristics we can physically see on that organism.
Example: Imagine that you have a normal-looking Ball Python who carries the Albino gene, but albinism is not visually expressed/seen in this animal. We designate its genotype as Het Albino, and its phenotype is Normal.
Dr. Ben Morrill of Rare Genetics, Inc. presents the next episode in Reptile Genetics Weekly, a video series where we discuss genetic research in reptiles and the hobby overall--including the research we're pioneering!
