Briefly alone in the basket while mom gets her food. We took care of the mom cat and kitty after the unexpected birth took place in our garage, where the mom snuck in. We could not keep them due to our rental agreement but were allowed to keep them in the garage until we successfully had them adopted through Community Animal Network, a rescue group I found and continue to be in touch with. We didn't know a thing about taking care of cats but did the best we can..... We used the plastic thinking it'll shield them from the cold in the garage, the only place our landlord would let us keep them. Of course now we know better from all your comments so next time this ever happens, we'll be sure not to use it! :-p
