1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup (210 grams) packed brown sugar
⅔ to 1 cup (125 to 185 grams) cane sugar
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 large egg + 1 yolk
¾ cup (165 grams) sourdough starter
2 ⅔ cup (343 grams) all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons unrefined sea salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 to 2 ½ cups chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
